A domain parking service provides you with landing pages full of advertisements that you can park your domains on. When people visit your domain and click on the ads, you make money. To get started, you simply sign up and follow the instructions. You will need to enter your domains into their database and change your domain name’s name servers to their nameservers. You can change this information at the registrar where your domain names are registered.
The way domain parking works is like this. When someone visits your domain name, either by typing it into their browser or by clicking through via an old link if it is an expired domain, they will see the landing page, (also called a PPC or pay per click page) provided by the domain parking service.
This page will usually have a list of links that represent advertisers who have paid money to be listed there. When the visitor to your domain name clicks on one of these links, you are paid a percentage of the cost of the ad. It is important that you set a keyword for the domain that matches what the traffic is looking for. The keyword you set will determine the types of ads shown on the page.
Often these parking pages can also be set to indicate that you are selling the domain name. This way you can monetize your domain’s traffic and also advertise the domain name as being for sale at the same time if you desire.
